Chemical Pump Stations with Corrosive Media? Chem-Stable Oil Filter Elements
February 21, 2024
Chemical hydraulics may absorb acids, alkalis, or solvent vapors. Standard media can swell, crack, or shed fibers, causing unstable accuracy and secondary contamination.
Choose chemically stable elements: PTFE-laminated glass fiber, PES synthetic media, or sintered stainless mesh. Use 316 SS or explosion-proof aluminum housings, with chemical-resistant end caps and adhesives.
Select 5–10 μm for servo/valve-sensitive systems, 10–25 μm for general circulation. Replace more conservatively (300–500 hours) and track pH, viscosity, and TAN; if chemistry shifts, treat oil alongside filtration.
